Put genuinely bleeding-edge tools in the hands of the people doing the work, and use what technology can now do to accelerate the growth and prosperity of an entire industry.
What I am building
Curbsight is a lead engine and a CRM for roofing and the other home exterior trades, and it is built for the whole company rather than one seat in it. Most shops have reps, then sales managers, then project managers, then somebody reconciling the money at the end of it — and the job has to survive every one of those handoffs. Curbsight carries it. One property record, from the first knock to the paid invoice.
The standard I hold it to is that it has to be bleeding edge, and it has to scale with a company instead of asking that company to change shape to fit it.
The hardest place for any of it to work is a door in July — one hand, hot phone, a couple of minutes before the homeowner decides. Something that holds up there will hold up at a desk. It does not go the other way, so I built outward from the door toward the office, and not the reverse.
Why build another one at all
I would rather be straight about the competition than act like it is not there. This industry is not short of software and some of it is very good. AccuLynx is the premier roofing CRM — eighteen years of building, the first cloud software this trade ever had, and reviews that are earned. If what you need is the office run well, it runs the office well.
What it does not do, and what that whole generation of tools does not do, is find you the work. It starts at the job you already have.
That is not a defect. It is what happens when something grows down a single path for eighteen years — deep roots and one shape. I think of AccuLynx as a well-rooted tree. Curbsight is not a taller version of that tree. It is a new species: started late enough to be built on what is possible now, and shaped around a different question — which houses are worth knocking before anybody leaves the truck, and how that same house stays one record all the way to the invoice.
The other half of the difference is how it gets built. I am on jobsites with the people using it, and something a contractor tells me is wrong on a Tuesday can be fixed and live the same week. Being new is the whole advantage there, and it is a temporary one, so I intend to spend it.
Why the industry, and not just the company
AI and what technology can now do should be accelerating the growth and prosperity of this industry, not passing it by. That is the part I care about most, and it is bigger than one company's roadmap.
A business that only wins when everyone else loses is not one I want to run. I want a community here that builds each other up instead of tearing each other down: knowledge spread freely rather than hoarded, and a platform handed to people whose ideas deserve a bigger room than they have been given.
I intend to put that on a calendar rather than leave it as a sentiment — events, seminars, conferences. People in a room together, not only online.
Who the tools are for
Everyone the job passes through. The rep at the door. The sales manager reading the board on Monday morning. The project manager holding six builds at once. The crew on the roof. The owner reconciling at the kitchen table on a Friday night.
Most shops run all of those people on four or five subscriptions that do not talk to each other, and the real cost of that is not the bill. It is the re-entry, the calls asking where a job stands, and the days a job sits still between two systems because moving it was somebody's fourth priority.
The measure is simple and it does not move: less workload, and less time sitting between job states. A release that does not make somebody's day lighter or a job move faster did not earn the ship.
Who owns Curbsight
I do. I founded it and I run it, out of Oklahoma, where it is registered as Curbsight LLC.
Several unrelated companies use the name Curbsight in other industries. This one — curbsight.io — is the property-intelligence and contractor platform for roofing and home exterior services. It is not affiliated with the others.
